Moving to Sydney: a practical checklist for parking, access, and timing
Plan a Sydney move with fewer surprises: parking permits, strata rules, peak traffic windows, and what to tell removalists about terraces, apartments, and lifts.

Parking and permits
If the truck cannot park legally within a short carry distance, you pay in time, money, or both. Councils across Greater Sydney have different permit systems; start at your local council site and confirm whether your street needs a temporary parking approval.
Strata, lifts, and loading zones
Many Sydney apartments require lift bookings and a bond for lift protection. Send those rules to your removalist early so they can schedule buffer time and bring the right materials.
Route timing matters
Crossing the city at the wrong hour can burn labour time. If you are flexible, ask what start time your mover recommends for your suburbs.
